The work La Liseuse II by Jacques Lipchitz was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 756,000.00 (€ 704,500.98), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacques Lipchitz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figure in November last year with an auction result of USD 4,380,000.00 (€ 4,242,952.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit La Liseuse II von Jacques Lipchitz wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 704.500,98) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques Lipchitz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figure im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.380.000,00 (€ 4.242.952,63).
