Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jacques Lipchitz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Ploumanach sold for USD 100,800.00 (€ 94,612.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Lipchitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure in November last year with an auction result of USD 4,380,000.00 (€ 4,242,952.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Lipchitz erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Ploumanach für USD 100.800,00 (€ 94.612,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques Lipchitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.380.000,00 (€ 4.242.952,63).
