Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Confrontation at the Bridge (Nesbett 75-2) by Jacob Lawrence for USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,247.18). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Discoveries at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Businessmen in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,169,800.00 (€ 5,448,909.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Confrontation at the Bridge (Nesbett 75-2) von Jacob Lawrence für USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.247,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Lawrence erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Businessmen im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.169.800,00 (€ 5.448.909,30).
