Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Johnnie Ray (for Jack Smith), from 1989 by Jack Pierson was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 945.00 (€ 951.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Pierson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The One and Only in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 334,100.00 (€ 436,989.69).

Die Arbeit Johnnie Ray (for Jack Smith), from 1989 von Jack Pierson kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 945,00 (€ 951,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Pierson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The One and Only im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 334.100,00 (€ 436.989,69).
