In July this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Hand Smoking #5 by Jack Pierson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,903.81), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Pierson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The One and Only in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 334,100.00 (€ 436,989.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hand Smoking #5 von Jack Pierson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.200,00 (€ 2.903,81) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Pierson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The One and Only im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 334.100,00 (€ 436.989,69).
