Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Ignacio Iturria was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,780.68). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ignacio Iturria - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avión azul en la bañera, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,691.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ignacio Iturria im November 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.780,68) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ignacio Iturria mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Avión azul en la bañera beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.691,31) versteigert wurde.
