Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Metegol II) by Ignacio Iturria was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,549.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ignacio Iturria - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avión azul en la bañera, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,691.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Metegol II) von Ignacio Iturria im Mai 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.549,12) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ignacio Iturria mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Avión azul en la bañera beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.691,31) versteigert wurde.
