In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Dense Branches (red) by Hoshi Joichi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,222.01), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hoshi Joichi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shuko (Autumn light), which sold at auction in September 2000 for USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,307.46).

Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dense Branches (red) von Hoshi Joichi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.222,01) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hoshi Joichi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shuko (Autumn light) beobachtet, die im September 2000 für USD 8.225,00 (€ 9.307,46) versteigert wurde.
