Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Herman Bieling could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures auction, the work The Harbour of Rotterdam by night changed hands for EUR 2,500.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herman Bieling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Heads, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 8,962.50.
In der Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit The Harbour of Rotterdam by night für EUR 2.500,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00.
