Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rotan chair in the artist's studio by Herman Bieling was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 504.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herman Bieling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Heads in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 8,962.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rotan chair in the artist's studio von Herman Bieling im Januar 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 504,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herman Bieling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Heads im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.962,50.
