Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Straat in Marrakech by Herman Bieling was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 960.00. Admittedly, works by Herman Bieling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Heads in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 8,962.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Straat in Marrakech von Herman Bieling im Januar 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 960,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman Bieling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Heads im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.962,50.
