Die Arbeit Calligraph Ending in a Question Mark von Herbert Ferber kam im September 2007 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.065,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert Ferber auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of D.H. Ii im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 74.783,73).
