The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,689.55), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatrix Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).

Die Arbeit A Preparatory Sketch For The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle: Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle Taking Something Out of A Clothes-Basket von Beatrix Potter wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.689,55) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73).
