Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Doghouse by Hannah Wilke was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,760.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hannah Wilke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work S.O.S. Starification Object Series in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 708,500.00 (€ 599,762.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Doghouse von Hannah Wilke kam im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.760,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hannah Wilke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit S.O.S. Starification Object Series im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 708.500,00 (€ 599.762,97).
