Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rougets by Gustave Caillebotte was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Caillebotte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rougets von Gustave Caillebotte kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 529.200,00 (€ 493.150,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07).
