Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le bassin d'Argenteuil by Gustave Caillebotte was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 4,860,000.00 (€ 4,707,933.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gustave Caillebotte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le bassin d'Argenteuil von Gustave Caillebotte kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.860.000,00 (€ 4.707.933,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07).
