Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sam and Dave by Grear Patterson was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,751.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grear Patterson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pants On Fire in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,383.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sam and Dave von Grear Patterson wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.751,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grear Patterson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pants On Fire im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.383,48).
