Upper estimate price exceeded by 87 %.
This artwork by Grant Wood achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in March last year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Tame Flowers sold for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,528.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
