the set of eight etchings and aquatints in colours (including title-page), on wove paper, each signed and dated in pencil, inscribed 'Trial Proof', aside from the numbered edition of 30 (there were also five artist's proofs), the full sheets, in very good condition, loose in blue canvas covered folder(portfolio)L., S. 420 x 535mm. Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction British Prints 1850-2004, which included the work Bridges, The artist, London, 1985 by Gordon House. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 300.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 336.00 (€ 496.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gordon House achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,530.21).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Prints 1850-2004 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bridges, The artist, London, 1985 von Gordon House zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 336,00 (€ 496,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gordon House erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.530,21).
