Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gonkar Gyatso achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2012. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Buddha@2010 sold for GBP 70,250.00 (€ 86,986.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gonkar Gyatso - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Endless Knot, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 169,250.00 (€ 210,432.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gonkar Gyatso erzielte im Juni 2012 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Buddha@2010 für GBP 70.250,00 (€ 86.986,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gonkar Gyatso mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Endless Knot beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für GBP 169.250,00 (€ 210.432,69) versteigert wurde.
