A top price for Gonkar Gyatso - as previously expected
The work Endless Knot by Gonkar Gyatso was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in October 2012. The price achieved of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 210,432.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Endless Knot is the most expensive artwork by Gonkar Gyatso that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Endless Knot von Gonkar Gyatso wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 210.432,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Endless Knot das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gonkar Gyatso, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
