This price was achieved in the auction Classical Chinese Paintings And Calligraphy at POLY in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gong Xian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dwelling In Seclusion Amid Rivers And Mountains in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,410,000.00 (€ 2,243,738.94).
