Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gong Xian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Pavilion Fairyland sold for HKD 3,100,000.00 (€ 341,191.62) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gong Xian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dwelling In Seclusion Amid Rivers And Mountains in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,410,000.00 (€ 2,243,738.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gong Xian erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Pavilion Fairyland für HKD 3.100.000,00 (€ 341.191,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gong Xian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dwelling In Seclusion Amid Rivers And Mountains im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.410.000,00 (€ 2.243.738,94).
