Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Verdant Mountains by Gong Xian. The price achieved of HKD 1,000,000.00 (€ 105,478.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gong Xian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dwelling In Seclusion Amid Rivers And Mountains in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,410,000.00 (€ 2,243,738.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Verdant Mountains von Gong Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.000.000,00 (€ 105.478,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gong Xian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dwelling In Seclusion Amid Rivers And Mountains im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.410.000,00 (€ 2.243.738,94).
