Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Glenn Ligon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September this year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Untitled (We are the Ink...) sold for USD 118,440.00 (€ 111,904.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Ligon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (I Was Somebody) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,973,000.00 (€ 3,194,243.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Glenn Ligon erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Untitled (We are the Ink...) für USD 118.440,00 (€ 111.904,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Glenn Ligon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (I Was Somebody) im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.973.000,00 (€ 3.194.243,45).
