Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Narratives by Glenn Ligon was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,320.00 (€ 19,227.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Ligon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (I Was Somebody) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,973,000.00 (€ 3,194,243.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Narratives von Glenn Ligon wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.320,00 (€ 19.227,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Glenn Ligon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (I Was Somebody) im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.973.000,00 (€ 3.194.243,45).
