This artwork by Gilbert Spencer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2019. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Horse Grazing Near Stourpaine sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,155.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gilbert Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).

In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Horse Grazing Near Stourpaine für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.155,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
