Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cotswold Farm, Dorset by Gilbert Spencer was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,680.00 (€ 8,960.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gilbert Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cotswold Farm, Dorset von Gilbert Spencer kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.680,00 (€ 8.960,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
