The work The Flower Show by Gilbert Spencer was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. It achieved a price of GBP 2,048.00 (€ 2,389.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).

Die Arbeit The Flower Show von Gilbert Spencer wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.048,00 (€ 2.389,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
