Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Rockport Yacht Club by Gifford Beal for USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,206.19). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gifford Beal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fish Houses, Winter Day in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,788.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rockport Yacht Club von Gifford Beal für USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.206,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gifford Beal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fish Houses, Winter Day im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.788,39).
