Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Legs) by Ghada Amer was sold in the The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,230.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ghada Amer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (The Big Blue Expression Painting BBEP) in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 179,290.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Legs) von Ghada Amer wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.230,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ghada Amer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (The Big Blue Expression Painting BBEP) im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 179.290,69).
