A top price for Gerard Malanga - as previously expected
The work Thermofax by Gerard Malanga was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in New York in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,943.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Thermofax is the most expensive artwork by Gerard Malanga that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Thermofax von Gerard Malanga wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.943,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Thermofax das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gerard Malanga, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
