Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 2,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond, which sold at auction in September 2001 for EUR 7,637.50.
