Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Zuidhavenpoort and the Noordhavenpoort, citygates of Zierikzee by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2008. It changed hands for a price of EUR 2,125.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond, which sold at auction in September 2001 for EUR 7,637.50.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Zuidhavenpoort and the Noordhavenpoort, citygates of Zierikzee von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw kam im Februar 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 2.125,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond beobachtet, die im September 2001 für EUR 7.637,50 versteigert wurde.
