In February 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Topographical Observations: Picture your world, which included the work Broeksloot bij Rijswijk: working near a quiet river by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,750.00 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond, which sold at auction in September 2001 for EUR 7,637.50.

Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world durch, in der auch die Arbeit Broeksloot bij Rijswijk: working near a quiet river von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.750,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond beobachtet, die im September 2001 für EUR 7.637,50 versteigert wurde.
