Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings 'Including Indonesian Art'., which included the work Langs de Merwede: a windmill on the bank of the river Merwede by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw. The price achieved of EUR 3,125.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond, which sold at auction in September 2001 for EUR 7,637.50.

Im September 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings 'Including Indonesian Art'. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Langs de Merwede: a windmill on the bank of the river Merwede von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.125,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond beobachtet, die im September 2001 für EUR 7.637,50 versteigert wurde.
