Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Topographical Observations: Picture your world, which included the work Steamers arriving at the port of Rotterdam by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw. The price achieved of EUR 4,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2001 the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond was auctioned for EUR 7,637.50.
