Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations, which included the work A view of the Zuidhavenpoort, Zierikzee by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 875.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond in September 2001 with an auction result of EUR 7,637.50.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of the Zuidhavenpoort, Zierikzee von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 875,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of the Maas, Rotterdam, the former HAL office beyond im September 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 7.637,50.
