This artwork by Georgia O'Keeffe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Waterfall, No. 2, Īao Valley sold for USD 2,470,000.00 (€ 2,301,742.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgia O'Keeffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 44,405,000.00 (€ 35,701,077.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Georgia O'Keeffe erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Waterfall, No. 2, Īao Valley für USD 2.470.000,00 (€ 2.301.742,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgia O'Keeffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.405.000,00 (€ 35.701.077,34).
