Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Feather with Bird's Bone by Georgia O'Keeffe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,260,000.00 (€ 1,174,168.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgia O'Keeffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 44,405,000.00 (€ 35,701,077.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Feather with Bird's Bone von Georgia O'Keeffe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.260.000,00 (€ 1.174.168,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgia O'Keeffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.405.000,00 (€ 35.701.077,34).
