Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Pink roses in a jug with lemons and a wine bottle, on a table; and Apples, a wine bottle and lemon, on a table by George Weissbort. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 336.00 (€ 491.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Weissbort achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Artist's Materials in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 11,063.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pink roses in a jug with lemons and a wine bottle, on a table; and Apples, a wine bottle and lemon, on a table von George Weissbort zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 336,00 (€ 491,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Weissbort erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life with Artist's Materials im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 11.063,54).
