This artwork by George Weissbort achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2000. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Still Life with Onions, Pan and Jar sold for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 3,017.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Weissbort - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Artist's Materials, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 11,063.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Weissbort erzielte im April 2000 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Still Life with Onions, Pan and Jar für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 3.017,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Weissbort mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Artist's Materials beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 11.063,54) versteigert wurde.
