This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Weissbort; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life with Artist's Materials sold at auction in April 2000 with the realized price of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 11,063.54).
