This artwork by George Tooker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Table II sold for USD 239,400.00 (€ 202,059.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Tooker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coney Island, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 427,500.00 (€ 407,725.32).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Tooker erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Table II für USD 239.400,00 (€ 202.059,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Tooker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Coney Island beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für USD 427.500,00 (€ 407.725,32) versteigert wurde.
