Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Un Ballo in Maschera by George Tooker. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,137.17). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Tooker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coney Island in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 427,500.00 (€ 407,725.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Un Ballo in Maschera von George Tooker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.137,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Tooker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coney Island im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 427.500,00 (€ 407.725,32).
