This artwork by George Tooker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2021. In the Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection auction, the work The Mirror sold for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,152.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Tooker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coney Island in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 427,500.00 (€ 407,725.32).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Tooker erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & MultiplesFeaturing the Arthur N. Gilbert Collection wurde die Arbeit The Mirror für USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.152,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Tooker erzielen.
