Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Mirror by George Tooker was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,147.00 (€ 1,023.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Tooker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coney Island in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 427,500.00 (€ 407,725.32).

Die Arbeit The Mirror von George Tooker wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.147,00 (€ 1.023,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Tooker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coney Island im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 427.500,00 (€ 407.725,32).
