Sold at the upper estimate price
In December 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work The Art Teacher by George Shaw. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,899.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Undergrowth in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Art Teacher von George Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.899,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Undergrowth im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43).
