Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Barnard could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner auction, the work The Allatoona Pass, Georgia from Photographic Views of Sherman's Campaign changed hands for USD 640.00 (€ 604.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barnard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
