Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Barnard could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Columbia from the Capitol changed hands for USD 352.50 (€ 391.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barnard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Barnard konnte im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Columbia from the Capitol für USD 352,50 (€ 391,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Barnard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected Images im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87).
